Like so many teachers, I found myself in a position where I wanted to earn additional income. I had to develop a “plan of action!” I’ve done it all—tutoring, selling clothing, even selling hair. But when the world shut down during COVID, everything changed. I was forced to pivot and acquire a new skill.

That’s when I discovered the art of filing taxes.

At first, taxes felt overwhelming. It’s a subject most people avoid because it’s complicated and intimidating. But as I continued to do research, I realized something powerful: taxes doesn’t have to be difficult. They’re just another tough subject that needs to be taught with fidelity.

And that’s when I had my aha moment.

I thought, “What if I could take my teaching strategies—the same ones I used in the classroom—and use them to break down tax topics for people?” I could teach clients to understand taxes step-by-step, simplify the filing process, and empower them to feel confident about their financial decisions.

That’s how The Tax Teacher was born and my passion to educate deepened further.
